Y1W

Welcome to Year 1W!

Below is some important information about your child's weekly routine.

Reading books

Please can you make sure your child has his/her reading book in school every day. Books will be changed on a Tuesday and a Friday. Please could you make sure your child's diary has been signed when you have read with them in order for the book to be changed.

Remember, it is important that you read with your child every night.

PE

Children will have PE on a Monday. Please can you make sure your child's PE kit is in school.

Learning Logs

Learning log challenges will be given on a Friday and will be linked to work that we have been doing in school that week. Enjoy this opportunity to sit and work with your child but I do ask that it is the children's writing in their book.

Please don't hesitate to see me if you have any questions or need any further information.

Thanks in advance,

Mrs Worrell, Mrs Day and Mrs Shaine

We celebrated Shrove Tuesday! We learnt all about why Christians celebrate Shrove Tuesday, read a book called Mr Wolf's Pancakes, then ate some delicious pankcakes. They were yummy!

We went on a material hunt around school.

We have read a book called Aliens love Underpants. Hanniah's mum made us a delicious cake that we all got a piece of. Thank you Hanniah's mum!

In spring 1 we have been doing multi-skills in PE. We have learnt how to control a ball in football and how to win a point in rugby. Here are some of our pictures from the sessions.

We dressed up as our favourite book character. We shared our favourite books with our friends and teachers.

On Friday 13th November we got the chance to have a music lesson from Travelling by Tuba. We all got to play a musical instrument and we had lots of fun.

We had the opportunity to paint a bonfire and firework picture and even had some bonfire treats!

Year 1W went to Blackpool Zoo!

This year we will be raising money for Save the Children. Mrs Kelly came in to tell us a little bit about the charity. Here are some photos!
