Hello and welcome to the Summer Term.
The staff working in Y1B this year are Mrs Butler and Mrs Shaine.
On Monday the children will be working with Technola. Mr Adermora from Technola will be working with the children. They will be learning how to use ipads.
Monday will also be the day the children do PE with the sports coach. They can come in PE kit on Monday.
We will be continuing to communicate through Class Dojo and sharing our learning as the term goes along. Please see below for our Medium Term plan for this half term.
Reading books will continue to be given out on a Friday along with spelling homework. The spelling homework will link to the sounds we have been learning in our phonic lessons.
The children will be given two reading books each Friday and they will need to be back in to be changed the following week on Thursday. Allow your child to have a go at reading the words using their knowledge of sounds and tricky words. If they cannot read the words read to them and allow them to practise. I will put a video on class dojo to support you with this.
Please can I encourage all children to be in school for 8.45am. We start lessons straight away and the children are missing out on learning if they arrive late. School finishes at 3.05pm
I will be sharing our learning on Class Dojo so that you can see what your children are learning and we will use class dojo to share homework and tasks that you can do at home to support learning.
We will be reading a reading a range of non fiction books about Pengiuns including The Emporer's Egg by Martin Jenkins and a great book about Polar Bears called Leaf by Sandra Dieckmann.

We will be having daily phonic lessons linked to phase 5c and consolidation of phase 5a and b as well as one to one reading and guided reading sessions.
