Welcome to Reception B
Welcome to Reception B! At St Thomas's our Reception class consists of two classes with separate classrooms and a shared provision and outdoor area. If your child is in Reception B then their teacher will be Mrs Butler and we have two wonderful TA's Mrs Ajmal and Mrs Gorrill that help us. We work closely with Miss Edge and Mrs Baig in the other Reception class to make up our Reception unit. We will use this page to keep you updated on key events and information throughout the year and also to show you what we will be learning. Below is some information you will need to know as your child starts with us in Reception.
Key Information
- School starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.10pm.
- School uniform is a red jumper/cardigan, white polo or shirt and grey trousers/skirt.
- All uniform MUST be labelled with your child's name.
- All children should have a water bottle and book bag, again please make sure these are labelled.
- Class Dojo is used to share our Reception curriculum with parents. Class Dojo is not to be used as a messaging system. If parents wish to speak to the class teacher they must make an appointment or speak to the teacher on the door at 8.45 or 3.10 (see below for more information on Class Dojo)
- Parents must sign up to Parent Hub as a communication system between school and home.
Forest School
At St Thomas's we are lucky enough to have a wonderful Forest School. We love to explore the forest as well our local area on a weekly basis. Please make sure that your child has their wellies in school and a waterproof coat with them everyday.
Class Dojo
We use Class Dojo to keep parents up to date with any key information and to show parents what we have been doing in Reception throughout the week. You will need to create your own parent account and you will then be added to the Class Dojo by Butler. It is essential parents are signed up to Class Dojo in order to keep up to date with information from school.
We have an open door policy in Reception so any concerns, worries, questions or just a general chat is welcomed by all members of staff.
We look forward to getting to know your children and sharing their learning journey with you!
