          • Send a photograph of you enjoying the sun! 🎇 Make sure you are connected to Class Dojo so you can do this. I can then send you messages!
          • Choose a times table you are not confident with and learn it off by heart.
          • Let's get creative! Paint, draw, collage a rainbow to put in your window. You can decide what to use, how big it is and choose a positive message to write underneath it. It will cheer people up as they walk past and make them smile.

Timestable Rockstars: This website will help your child improve their speed and accuracy in recalling their times tables. I will post updates into our class Dojo to let the children know what time to log on.  We can then take part in a class battle together.  In addition to this we recommend your child completes one task a day, they have their own password.

BBC Newsround: This topical news based website includes a daily news programme, film clips and quizzes based on current world events. This is something we use regularly in school and we would recommend you visit this site daily.  In class the children make notes about the news and share it with an adult.  Please encourage your child to do this at home too.

Purple Mash: This website is a treasure trove of activities and is somewhere to visit to keep your children engaged across the curriculum. Again, your child has their own password.

Our Y4H weekly Routine

P.E

Children will require their P.E. kits every Thursday and Friday. They should leave it in school until the half term holiday. This will ensure that they don’t regularly forget their P.E. kit. The children will need either pumps or trainers as the children will participate in outdoor and indoor activities throughout the term. If your child doesn’t have the correct footwear, they may not be able to participate in certain activities, which would have a negative impact on their physical development.

Spellings

Children will be given a spelling list every Thursday, please ensure your child practices these as they will be tested on these spellings the following Thursday. To support them further, encourage children to form sentences with the words given.

Learning logs

Children will be given learning log challenges each term which is linked to the work they have been covering throughout the topic. This needs to be handed in on specific dates, please take this opportunity to work with your child and tackle the challenges with a creative, imaginative mind that celebrates you child's ideas. Please take a look at our homework grid below.

Books

Reading books will be changed every Thursday. Please ensure that books are signed and reading diaries are in school each Thursday. It is important that your child reads every evening. This could be done independently or with the help of an adult or older sibling.

TTRS

The children have been given logins for Times Tables Rock Stars. They can access the app at home on a laptop or ipad and even get the opportunity to play against the teachers some evenings. Please encourage your child to access the website at home as this will give them much needed practice of the Times Tables they are unsure of.

The children will be mainly covering the grammar objectives for year 4 to extend their learning.  Please see our objectives below.
