We are moving on to look at another one of Shakespeare's plays called the Tempest. At the end of the week, you will be drawing a story board and there will be a box per episode. I would recommend that you take notes for each episode to help you. Your story board will need to represent the main events of each episode.
Activity 1 - Watch episode 1 of 'The Tempest' and complete comprehension questions
https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks2-the-tempest-pt1/zntnkmn
Watch episode 1 of the Tempest. Remember, you need to be taking notes to help you with your story board at the end of the week. Complete the comprehension questions below.
Activity 2: Prediction
After watching episode 1, it is not really giving much away at the moment. What is making Prospero so angry? Why were they sent to sea? The list goes on. I would like you to predict what is going to happen in the Tempest. I would like you to think about:
- What might happen in the story
- Reasons why Prospero and Miranda were sent to sea
- What are Ariel and the sprites going to do to the boat?
You may want to make your predictions into a mind map or split your page into three sections, so you have room for all three areas to focus on.
12:15pm - 1:15pm LUNCH TIME
1:15pm - 2:30pm FOUNDATION - GEOGRAPHY
Last week, you did some research about our capital city, London. This week, I would like you to research tourist attractions in London. I would like you to pick your favourite and advertise this activity/attraction. Your aim is to persuade people to go to your attraction. Therefore, you have to make it sound very worthwhile for them to do. You can create your advertisement in any way you choose.
Where is it?
How long will they be there for?
What can you do at your attraction/activity?
Does it cost?
What age is it suitable for?
What other attractions are close to it?
Are there any customer reviews you want to include?
