Phonics

To start today's phonics please can you recap your phase 3 and phase 5 sounds that you find tricky. You can use your sound mats or you could use the flash cars on phonics play. 

 

 

Can you now practice some of your tricky words- You need to be able to read and spell these! Practise the ones that you find difficult. Choose up to 5.

This half term we are going to be looking at alternative pronunciations and alternative spellings. Today we are going to look at the alternative pronunciation for the ‘ea’ grapheme.  Can you read these words?

Literacy (Monday and Tuesday)

Over the next two or even three days I would like you to practice your Year 1 high frequency words.

 

 

First have a go at reading the words. Make a note of the words you can read and those you still need to practice. These will then become your focus reading words for the rest of the summer term.

 

Then in small groups – maybe up to 6 at a time, have a go at spelling the words in the list. Make a note of the words you can spell correctly and those you need to practice. Those will then become your focus words for the rest of the summer term.
