MATHS
Warm-up
I would like you to go on the 'Daily 10'. This is where you receive 10 questions and you need to write the answer down for each as it comes up. Today I would like you to click on:
-Level 2
-Digit values
-Choose your time (how quickly each new question comes up. The shorter the time the quicker the questions will come. Maybe start at 10 seconds and if that is easy reduce to 7 then 5, 3 etc.)

Main session
Today we will focus on giving change. When we buy something in a shop most of the time we won't have the exact amount so will be given change. It is important that you can work out what the correct change should be.You will use your skills of recognising coins, addition and subtraction.
Firstly, watch this video.
Afterwards I would like you to try the sheet attached below and check your work against the answers.
Remember, you can either print it, write the answers out or discuss them with a family member.
CHALLENGE
If your child finds the White Rose sheet fairly easy I have also attached an additional problem solving activity. As that suggests the questions are more tricky, take time and are to extend learning further. They get more difficult as you work through them. The answers are also provided to support you to review the work.

LITERACY
Well done on your excellent lists of African animals that you sent me yesterday. There were some great pictures and detailed sentences.
Today I would like you to choose 1 animal from your list (ideally different from yesterday) and you are going to write a fact file about it. I would like you to include a title and some subheadings as shown below. You can research you animal and then write a few sentences under each sub-heading.
Title- Name of the animal
How does it look?
Where does it live?
What does it eat?
Interesting fact or Did you know?
This is an example about giraffes but I think you can do an even better job by using the sub-headings included above to make your work really clear. Remember, you can add in pictures, diagrams etc.

The kids National Geographic site has lots of fun things to look at along with games and quizzes you can do too.

TOPIC- HISTORY
Lets learn another significant figure in history, Florence Nightingale. You may already know who she is or you may have just heard this name recently based on the Nightingale hospitals built in readiness for Covid-19.
This is Florence Nightingale.
Florence Nightingale went to the Crimean War to nurse wounded soldiers. She changed the way people nursed and helped save many lives.
Discover more about her life in the clip by following this link and completing the activities.

The sheet for the second activity is attached below. You don't need to print it, you can just write the answers out.
