I hope you have all had a lovely weekend in the sunshine.
Well done to all the children who completed last week’s
challenges. I am super proud of the hard work you have been doing and I have been sharing your efforts on class story.

Continue with activities in the daily phonics and reading activities on the website. Recap phase 3 and phase 5 sounds from sound mats or on phonics play. Focus sounds for today are ay, ai and a-e Can you read and write the words?

Warm-up – Continue counting forwards and backwards in twos. When they are confident, start from different starting points e.g 6, 8, 10 … or 16,14,12…
Children can then recognise you can count in twos starting from an odd number e.g 1,3,5

Literacy |
This week we are going to read a new story called The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffries. It is about a little boy who builds himself a rocket and goes off to space. See powerpoint below.
Think about what questions you would like to ask him. Can you use question words – Who, Why and What. Can you write up to 3 sentences? Remember to use question marks.
