Monday 27th April

Good Morning Year 1,

Well done to all the children who completed last week’s

Let’s see how many of can complete today’s activities.

Maths

Warm-up – Continue counting forwards and backwards in twos. When they are confident, start from different starting points e.g 6, 8, 10 … or  16,14,12…

Children can then recognise you can count in twos starting from an odd number e.g 1,3,5

Play whack-a-mole – This game will support the above activity:

Week 3: Lesson 1– Making doubles

Watch the video and then attempt the questions.

Either print and complete, write the answers on a separate sheet or discuss the answers with an adult or older brother or sister.

Literacy

This week we are going to read a new story called The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffries. It is about a little boy who builds himself a rocket and goes off to space. See powerpoint below.

Think about what questions you would like to ask him. Can you use question words – Who, Why and What. Can you write up to 3 sentences? Remember to use question marks.

Watch the short video on bbc bitesize about question marks to support you.

Remember, you can post your work on Class Dojo to show me what you have done. There are lots of dojo points on offer! smiley
