Reading Activities - How to Train Your Dragon  by Cressida Cowell. Today is Chapter 6 - Meanwhile, Deep in the Ocean. The chapter is extremely short (2 pages). Please listen to the chapter and tick to the box to prove you have listened to them.

Maths Activity - MNP Measurements Lesson 6 - For this lesson, we are converting grams into kilograms by dividing by 1000. This mean the digits move 3 places to the right. If we do not do this method, then you can partition and use the conversion scale to add up the decimals.

Literacy Activity - Grammar Hammer Y5 Skill Check 11 

 

Spelling Test will occur on Friday and will be on Seesaw. I will read the word out for the children to write one each separate page. . The target is >8 (80% or more). For this week's spellings, we are looking at Unstressed Vowels in Polysyllabic Words. Please practise these everyday. Children to complete handwriting and word-search activities as well as the mnemonic activity. This week's spellings are as follows:

  • definite (Y5 Statutory Word - It must be spelt right!)
  • desperate
  • literate
  • secretary (Y5 Statutory Word - It must be spelt right!)
  • stationary
  • dictionary (Y5 Statutory Word - It must be spelt right!)
  • Wednesday (Must have a capital letter)
  • familiar (Y5 Statutory Word - It must be spelt right!)
