Main session

We are going to finish our maths learning by focusing on telling the time. Again, as with money, this is a life skill. Use a watch or clock to help you where possible.

Look at the learning summary on quarter to and quarter past:

Now watch this video.

YEAR 2- SUMMER TERM- WEEK 11- LESSON 4

QUARTER TO AND QUARTER PAST

Afterwards I would like you to try the sheet attached below and check your work against the answers.

Remember, you can either print it, write the answers out or discuss them with a family member.

CHALLENGE

If your child finds the White Rose sheet fairly easy I have also attached an additional problem solving activity. As that suggests the questions are more tricky, take time and are to extend learning further. They get more difficult as you work through them. The answers are also provided to support you to review the work.

LITERACY

What is a story?

There are different types of stories, there are fiction and non-fiction.

Fiction stories are made up, you need to use your imagination when you are writing them. Types of fiction include plays, stories and poems.

Non-fiction stories are not made up. They are about facts. There are many different types of non-fiction writing, such as newspapers, adverts, brochures, reference books and biographies.

Watch the videos and try the activities:
