Activity 1: Write ideas about Dolores Umbridge

• Watch the clip from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. What can you infer about the character Dolores Umbridge from this clip? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrAe0XI7mis
• Write some of your ideas around the outline provided or draw your own. Can you back your ideas up with evidence from the video?

Activity 2: Reading Comprehension Text A, B and C

• Read each of the extracts and add any additional ideas you get of Dolores Umbridge on your outline. Can you include some evidence to support your answers?
• Complete the comprehension questions for each extract. The minimum expectation is to complete questions A and B. If you want to push yourself more, you can complete questions C. Answers will be attached below for each extract. If you get any questions wrong, have another go.

Activity 3: Write a school report

• Pretend that you are Dolores Umbridge. It is the end of the year and it is that time most teachers hate... report writing. Can you write a report as Dolores Umbridge about either Harry, Ron or Hermione? Think about her tone, is she going to be informal or formal?
• Send me your writing over ClassDojo so I can read them. Remember, points are rewarded for work I see.

Remember Year 6, you are making history living through this pandemic! Continue to work on your time capsules with your families! This is the last day on the time table I am going to set you to do this task. However, if you want to continue this in your free time, I would love to see what you have done!

2:30pm - 3:00pm READING AND SPELLING PRACTICE

It is really important that you are reading at home, whilst we are off. Therefore, today I would like you to take part in a fact retrieval lesson on Oak National Academy. I will post all the relevant sheets for you to use underneath. The first part of the lesson is the answer a quick recap quiz on retrieval. Then, you have a video which goes through the work with you. Make sure you pause the lesson to have a go at the questions as they do go through the answers with you. Finally, you are going to be given an extract with a few questions to answer. At the end of the session, it focuses on '-cious' spellings. Finish the lesson off by practising these spellings by covering them up and re-writing them.
