MATHS

 

Warm up

 

It is important to know different ways to make the same amount of money.

 

e.g. make 10 using-

 

- 1 coins: 1 x 10p

- 2 coins: 2 x 5p

 

So make 40p using:

> 2 coins

 

> 3 coins

 

> 4 coins 

 

> 5 coins

 

Main session

 

It's Arithmetic Friday.            

 

It's really important that we continue to focus on basic arithmetic. This is about being able to work out the answers to sums fairly quickly which we do by learning number bonds and our multiplication facts and by spotting patterns.

 

Our reviews will cover all operations along with fractions. The review gets harder as you progress through it. Remember to use your written methods/drawings to help you answer the questions, you won't be able to do them all mentally (mainly the last few).

 

You don't have to print the sheet off, you can always just do your working out and write the answers down on a separate piece of paper. 

 

The sheet says 30 minutes but please do not worry if it takes you a little longer. You will get quicker the more you practice. As I always tell you in class, if you get stuck on one move to the next one and come back to it at the end.

There are many fun and interesting things you can do using computers.

There are amazing apps, wonderful websites and great games to play.

But it’s important to make sure they are safe before you use them.

Family online safety

Take a look at the online safety tips below from Twinkl:

• Make sure to create long and complex passwords
• Be selective with what information you share online
• Practice safe shopping and safe surfing
• Keep up to date with internet rules and regulations
• If you see any negative behaviour online, never retaliate - block or report the activity and keep a record of what you saw

 

Now create a poster about staying safe online. You could then put it somewhere in your house where everyone can see it to remind you how to stay safe online.
