Monday 20th April 2020

Good Morning Year 1,

I can’t believe two weeks have passed! I hope you enjoyed the Easter holidays and you have eaten lots of chocolate eggs!

Have you have kept busy and had the opportunity to enjoy your daily exercise in the lovely sunshine?

I hope you are ready to complete the daily learning activities. Remember to show me what you have been doing on class dojo.

Also, if you have any questions, don’t forget you can ask me on class dojo.

Mrs E

Warm-up – Count forwards and backwards in tens. When they are confident, start from different starting points e.g 30, 40, 50 … or  70, 60, 40…

Play whack-a-mole – This game will support the above activity:

Play caterpillar sequencing to support the activity.

Complete the final lesson on capacity on the White Rose hub website (see links below)

Week 2: Lesson 1 – Compare Capacity

Watch the video and then attempt the questions.

Either print and complete, write the answers on a separate sheet or discuss the answers with an adult or older brother or sister.

Why don’t you tell me what you have been doing over the holidays?

Can you write sentences telling me what you have done?

  • Always use a capital letter to start your sentence.
  • Use a full stop, question mark or exclamation mark at the end of your sentence.
  • Use finger spaces between each word.
  • Try to form your letters correctly.

Then, can you draw a picture of what you have been doing over holidays?

This week we will be finding out more about Spring time.

  • What happens during Spring?
  • What is the weather like?
  • What happens to the trees and plants?
  • What happens to lots of animals?
  • Are there any celebrations?

Can you talk to your family, have a look around you when you go for a walk or research on the internet? You can create a mind map, draw pictures or write sentences. It’s up to you.

You can also complete a weather chart for the week like we did for Autumn and Winter. I have attached a copy at the bottom but if you can’t print it you could make your own. Remember, we used a thermometer but lots of phones can access the temperature as well.

Remember, you can post your work on Class Dojo to show me what you have done. There are lots of dojo points on offer! smiley
