11:00am - 12:15pm LITERACY/READING
Activity 1: Read experiences of racism
Today, you are going to be reading about different experiences of racism which people have had. You are going to be reading Asim and Claire's experiences of racism. Before you read their accounts, I would like you to write down what racism means to you. There are a lot of definitions for the word so I want to know yours. After you have read each of the accounts, I would like you to fill in the table for each account.
Activity 2: Balraj's story
You are now going to listen to Balraj's story and his battle with racism, whilst doing something he loves. Whilst you are watching his story, you may want to make notes to help you with the task. Once you have watched his story, I would like you to summarise his story through pictures and words. I will attach a template for you to use.

Activity 3: Read challenging racism with an adult
Your final literacy activity today is to read 'Challenging Racism' by Claire. You may want to read this article with an adult so you can discuss it. Once you have read it, I would like you to reflect on what she has written. I would like you to think about:
- How does challenging racism make you feel?
- Do we challenge racism enough in our society today?
- What can we do to make things better?
